In an age of constant connectivity, where screen time often trumps storytime, Trish Storer is gently reminding families of a simpler joy: singing, dancing, and laughing together. A beloved South Australian educator, performer, and founding member of the cherished children’s group T.A.Z Razzle, Trish has spent decades creating magical moments for children through music—and she’s not done yet.

Recently releasing two fresh albums of children’s music, Trish is on a mission to help parents, grandparents, and carers rediscover the joy of unplugged play. “After five decades in teaching and entertainment, I still see how music lights up children’s faces,” she says. “It’s not just fun—it’s fundamental.”

Her new albums are bursting with original, playful tracks designed to get kids off the couch and into a world of rhythm and imagination. Whether it’s an energetic morning boogie or a calm, melodic wind-down before bed, Trish’s songs are the perfect soundtrack for screen-free moments. “These songs are invitations,” she adds. “To dance in the kitchen, sing in the car, or simply connect in a way no device can replicate.”

As both a seasoned educator and a proud grandmother of two, Trish sees firsthand how music captivates young minds. “Screens are everywhere, but music can still cut through—it gets them moving, feeling, learning. It’s joyful and deeply human.”

Trish’s journey into music started well before her T.A.Z Razzle days. In the 1970s, she and fellow musician David Bonnin performed as a duo across Adelaide’s pubs, wineries, and wedding venues. She also recorded jingles for Adelaide’s top radio and TV stations. Whilst at 5AD David and Trish recorded over 20 original songs considered by music legends Vanda & Young for an album of folk songs. Several of these original songs have found new life in her adult album Remember November, released on Spotify this month.

That album is a heartfelt retrospective, featuring original folk, jazz, country, and blues tracks remastered by her talented cousin, producer James Black. Joined by a close-knit circle of musical collaborators — including her drummer son James Storer and cousin, guitarist David Black — Remember November is as much about personal legacy as it is about melody.

But it’s through her children’s music theatre group, T.A.Z Razzle, that Trish became a beloved figure to countless young families. Alongside the late Anna Michael and creative partner Zyta Zielenicki, Trish helped pioneer a new style of children’s performance in South Australia—one that blended music, movement, and laughter into unforgettable, interactive shows. The group’s songs still echo in playgroups and classrooms today, a tribute to the enduring power of joyful, imaginative storytelling.

Their legacy continues not just in albums and memories, but in recognition. In 2023, four of Trish’s songs were handpicked for the ABC’s KIDS LISTEN platform, reaching a whole new generation of young ears. Tracks like Rainbow Boogie and 1,2,3,4,5 Hello! – featuring greetings in eight different languages – celebrate diversity, creativity, and play.

“I’ve always believed music is more than entertainment,” says Trish. “It’s how we connect. It brings families together. It creates memories.”

With new releases, continued passion, and a heart full of song, Trish Storer isn’t slowing down. She’s just pressing play—inviting us all to unplug, sing a little louder, and dance like no one’s watching. Find Trish’s latest releases on Spotify.
