Adelaide Cabaret Festival has gone all out this year, as South Australia’s favourite winter festival gets set to sizzle when it celebrates Adelaide Festival Centre’s 50th Anniversary in June.

Curated by an all-star line-up of nine Artistic Directors, The Cabaret Collective – Julia Holt, David Campbell, Lisa Campbell, Kate Ceberano, Eddie Perfect, Ali McGregor, Julia Zemiro, Alan Cumming and Tina Arena – each has brought their own flair to the program, bringing back some cabaret classics and presenting new and emerging artists. Many will perform at the already sold-out opening night The 2023 Variety Gala, and some have their very own shows as part of the stellar line-up.

Nine artistic directors for one festival? How is THAT going to work?

Well, if 22 years of Adelaide Cabaret Festival has taught us anything, it’s that there are no rules, and anything is possible. What initially felt like an impossible ask was met with characteristic curiosity and enthusiasm from each of these deeply creative and generous individuals. From the outset, what was most obvious was the abundant passion and fondness these ADs feel for the festival they have created, and, particularly for you, the audiences and loyal festival goers. The resulting program is a collection of old favourites and new beginnings that speaks to the legacy of past festivals and hopes for its future.

This year, Adelaide Cabaret Festival is also proud to be partnering with Office for Ageing Well and Seniors Card for the first time. Seniors Card members will enjoy discounts across a range of shows from Australian and International cabaret superstars. They can also kick up their heels at free events such as the LGBTQI Elders Dance or join us for some classic cabaret showtunes in the Quartet Bar with Trevor Jones… there is something for everyone this Adelaide Cabaret Festival!
