Wellbeing SA is encouraging South Australians to discover the benefits of walking, sharing the message that even small amounts of walking – as little as 10 minutes per day – can have a positive impact on wellbeing.

Scientific evidence shows walking as part of regular physical activity can help improve physical, mental, and social wellbeing.

There are many simple ways to add a walk into your day. Examples include getting outside into nature for a few minutes with family, walking to the shops, or catching up with a friend outside. Simply choose an activity that’s easy and enjoyable for you.

The campaign is one element of Wellbeing SA’s commitment to the South Australian Walking Strategy 2022-2032.

The Walking Strategy was developed in partnership with the Heart Foundation, to support people in South Australia to walk more often and in turn, help their physical, social, and mental health.
