Ageing Well Community and Research Grants

Office for Ageing Well is calling for community groups and organisations, local governments, researchers, and research organisations across the state to apply for its annual grant rounds.

Ageing Well Community and Research Grants provide funding for community projects, goods and research to support South Australians to live and age well, bringing generations together and tackling ageism while recognising older people’s diverse social, economic, cultural, and sexual identities.

Grants for Seniors of up to $5,000 can pay for equipment and materials that stimulate activity and social engagement for older people. Up to $10,000 can be used for cultural, social, educational, or ageing well projects. Grants may support community activities during South Australia’s Week of Ageing Well from 1-7 October.

Positive Ageing Fellowship Grants of up to $50,000 are for capability- building projects to support older South Australians to age well and contribute to delivering South Australia’s Plan for Ageing Well 2020-2025. The Australian Centre for Social Innovation (TACSI) will provide coaching and mentoring support.

South Australian local governments, equivalent organisations, Aboriginal and Outback Communities and Regional Local Government Associations can apply for Age Friendly SA Grants of up to $50,000 with local government partnerships eligible for up to $80,000.

And a total of $150,000 is available to researchers and research organisations through the Impact Research Grants for Ageing Well. The program offers two Seed Grants of up to $25,000 each for research projects of up to 12 months duration and a Major Research Grant of up to $100,000 ($50,000 annually for two years) for a research project of up to 24 months duration. In 2025-2026, research will relate to priority questions under the ageing well pillar of ‘Getting Around’ of the Strategic Research Agenda for Ageing Well in South Australia.

Applications for Ageing Well Community and Research Grants close Friday 10 October at 5.00pm ACDT.
