The Aged Rights Advocacy Service (ARAS) is a free, confidential and independent service that helps older people across South Australia.

ARAS can help if you are:
- living in aged care or a retirement village
- getting (or trying to get) help through the Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP) or a Home Care Package (HCP)
- at risk of, or experiencing abuse from family, friends or service providers.
ARAS provides help through the Care Finder Program (City of Playford and City of Salisbury), which supports older people who may have difficulties getting aged care services. This might be because they feel lonely, have health or language problems, or don’t have family to support them. ARAS staff can help you understand your choices and find the right care.
ARAS has Aboriginal Advocates who give safe, respectful help to older Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people and their families.
