It is common for people to avoid talking about their plans for their older years.

Why would that be? Do they see these conversations or thoughts as an admission of their physical decline and eventual death? Are environments not welcoming of these discussions? Or is the topic simply too challenging to talk about?

The World Health Organization defines healthy ageing as “the process of developing and maintaining the functional ability that enables wellbeing in older age”, with wellbeing regarded as a state of being comfortable, healthy and content.

Now is the right time to have these conversations - to decide what healthy ageing means to you, to talk about your thoughts and concerns with others and move forward with making informed decisions.

Developed by Zest Creative: Living Life, the free 8-week Ageing Well Conversation Series, provides an opportunity to share with and learn from others about what it takes to grow older with meaning, purpose and passion.

Some of the conversational topics explored include: home, belonging and community; the reality of ageing; ageism; money matters; living with meaning and purpose; and the importance of social connection.

Participants will be provided with a chance to connect with others, enjoy light refreshments and a free copy of a soon to be released book based on conversations to date with older South Australians.

The 8-week Conversation Series will run in multiple locations. For more information about the Conversation Series contact Lia Parsons from Zest Creative: Living Life, or if you’re ready to book, do so via the contacts and locations below:
