Torrens University is inviting community members to provide their views on screening for common health conditions in general practice.

The IMPAACT project will use the study results to improve the participation of older Australians in policy decision-making in this area.

Torrens University is leading the study, which is being conducted by a large team of multi-disciplinary researchers from a range of national and international universities, and includes consumers, health service providers, policy makers and aged care industry representatives.

Your voice matters and the researchers would love to hear from you by nominating to join a Citizen’s Jury on the topic.

A Citizen’s Jury involves presentation of evidence from expert witnesses, with the jury able to question the experts, discuss the topic as a jury and reach a verdict, or in this case, make recommendations about how to proceed with screening.

If you or someone you know is aged 50 or over, a resident of South Australia and available to take part in a two-day citizens’ jury on the topic of health screening, please consider joining.

Citizens’ Juries will be held in the Adelaide CBD and attendance is required from 9.00am to 5.00pm with meal breaks. Participants will be given a $500 Coles/Myer gift voucher for their time. Morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea will be provided.
