Carers SA has teamed up with Carers NSW and the National Carer Network for this year’s National Carer Survey which is a crucial tool that empowers Carers to shape the future of support services.

Who are Carers? They are people who provide unpaid care to a family member or friend and who provide support such as gardening, medication management and emotional support through to 24/7 personal care. Carers can be as young as seven years old and most people may be a Carer at some point in your life.
The information collected from South Australian Carers in this survey will provide decision-makers with up-to-date insights into the current experiences of Carers in South Australia and will contribute to a comprehensive national perspective.
Moreover, up-to-date data strengthens advocacy and lobbying efforts, highlighting the critical role Carers play in our communities and driving recognition and resources where they are needed most.
Your voice in this survey, or support to distribute it, can lead to better recognition and services for all Carers.
Carers who opt to take part in the survey have the option to enter a draw for a $200 voucher. After the survey closes on 31 July, three entries from South Australia will be drawn at random and the winners will be notified. This information will not be linked to your responses, which will remain anonymous.
The survey has ethics approval by the Macquarie University Human Research Ethics Committee (Project ID 6233) and is supported by researchers from the University of New South Wales, the University of Sydney, and the University of Melbourne.
