Your input is invited on how current animal welfare laws are working, and ways they could be improved.

The South Australian Government is committed to reviewing the Animal Welfare Act 1985 (the Act) to ensure laws governing animal treatment stay up to date with community expectations.

This first step in the review is gathering community feedback to help understand expectations about animal welfare and identify opportunities for change, that may improve the Act.

An overview of the Act and its parts is provided in the community consultation paper. This paper provides context to the review and background to the survey questions.

You can contribute to the review by completing the survey. If you do not wish to respond to all questions in the survey, you can opt to provide a 'general comment' only. Note that feedback should be provided through the survey only. Submissions via email or by any other means will not be accepted.

The survey closes on Sunday 26 March 2023.

Further information about the review and how to have your say is available on YourSAy.
