Did you know that The Mercury is the only cinema of its kind in Australia?
A member-run, community focussed cinema, The Mercury offers a unique subscription model with a full access option for $25 per month, which provides tickets to 300+ films across 800+ cinema sessions each year, as well as access to all filmmaker programs including workshops, funding, facilities and equipment.

The thoughtfully selected weekly cinema program includes Silverscreen each Tuesday, Friday and Sunday afternoon where local audiences meet over a complimentary morning tea and enjoy a matinee movie.
Programmed with older South Australians in mind, Silverscreen showcases the best in contemporary world cinema alongside recent award winners and the latest local and national films. It’s like a year-round film festival programmed just for you!
The Mercury is currently planning its 2025 screening and events schedule and is keen for input into the film interests and cinema habits of older South Australian so that it can best curate a tailored and bespoke program of films.

Seniors Card members can access a substantial discount at $10 per ticket for any Silverscreen session and travel free to The Mercury on the city’s public transport system which is free for Seniors Card members.
Each session of Silverscreen is introduced by a Mercury staff member or screen industry representative to provide background about the film, and audiences are encouraged to think critically and engage in dialogue with fellow patrons. It’s this sense of connection and community that makes Silverscreen at The Mercury truly special. Filmmaker Q&As and special guided discussions are also a regular part of the Silverscreen program.
Silverscreen has fostered an inclusive and friendly community of film buffs who come together to socialise and bond over a shared passion for movies. Meeting new and old friends for a day out is truly priceless.
Silverscreen audience members agree it’s an enjoyable and important part of their week.
