Coordinated by Seniors Card and Office for Ageing Well, South Australia’s annual Week of Ageing Well, held 1-7 October in line with International Day of Older Persons (1 October), is an exciting week of celebration.

The Week encourages people to celebrate and value the diversity and significant contributions of older South Australians, providing opportunity for connection, through events or activities that support us to live happy and meaningful lives.

In 2023, sold out events included Seed Dating 50+ and Progressive Tea Trail, in partnership with Nature Festival, Positive Ageing and Wellness Expos and other activities that supported connection and raised awareness of ageism.

This year, exciting events will be held across South Australia including getting out in nature and on the water with experiences of storytelling and performance, photography, connection with others, dance and games, intergenerational activities and much more.

Visit the Week of Ageing Well webpage for featured events and subscribe to the mailing list to keep up to date with the latest news, special offers and more, as they are added in the lead up to the Week.

Everyone is encouraged to get involved

  • Share information about the Week with your networks

The Week supports the vision of South Australia’s Plan for Ageing Well 2020-2025, that ‘South Australia is a healthy, connected, equitable and sustainable community, which takes a whole of life approach that fosters many years of living well, and supports us to die with dignity, in line with our wishes.’
