South Australia’s Week of Ageing Well 1-7 October 2025 is approaching.

Supported by Office for Ageing Well and Seniors Card SA, the week is a celebration of living and ageing well that aims to:

  • Encourage people of all ages to connect with each other and have conversations about ageing well.
  • Support a deeper understanding of what ageing well means across the state and highlight the roles we all play in supporting each other to live and age well.
  • Promote activities that support us to live meaningful lives.
  • Support organisations, groups and community members to host events.
  • Raise awareness about ageism, diversity and accessibility.

This October, you are encouraged to discover the meaning of ageing well:

  • Talk with your friends, family, colleagues, or community members to find out what ageing well means to them.
  • Take this short survey (external site) and contribute to the statewide understanding of ageing well.

Survey responses will contribute to a statewide understanding of ageing well and will inform the next state ageing well plan. A visual representation of ageing well will also be shared via the mailing list and in WeekendPlus, in November.

In 2024, over 73 Week of Ageing Well activities were held across South Australia including concerts, discussions, morning teas, art, health and fitness activities, and intergenerational events.

Office for Ageing Well will not be collecting event registrations this year but organisations and community members can still host events within their communities.

An online event registration tool will be launched in 2026.

Resources to share with your networks will be added to the webpage, leading up to the week.
