Nominations for the annual Office for Ageing Well Tackling Ageism Award, part of the South Australian Community Achievement Awards, close soon.
The award recognises an individual, community group or organisation that understands the pervasive nature of ageism and is taking action to challenge it and to better promote the value of older people and ageing well.
It is open to those who can demonstrate tangible actions to confront and overcome discrimination against older South Australians. Government organisations and programs are not eligible to apply.
It is the third year Office for Ageing Well has offered the Tackling Ageism Award with 22 nominations in 2021 and 19 in 2020.
Individuals, community groups and non-profit organisations actively working to challenge ageism and highlight the value of older people and ageing well are encouraged to apply for the 2022 award.
Nominations for the Community Achievement Awards close on Thursday 25 August 2022, with the finalists to be announced in October, and the winners presented in Adelaide in December.
