1.  Nature Festival Opening Picnic at Carrick Hill

2.  Harmony in Nature. Embracing Home with Tai Chi in Australia - Grange Beach

  • Monday, 2 October

Experience harmony through the ancient art of Tai Chi, specifically adapted to celebrate the Australian land, seascape, flora and fauna. We work with breath control and balance in a holistic way, connecting mind and body. Sessions are for all ages, and beginners are warmly encouraged and welcomed.

3.  The Wombats and Stars of Brookfield Conservation Park

  • Saturday, 7 October
  • 6:00pm to 9:30pm
  • Brookfield Conservation Park, Blanchetown

Home to southern hairy-nosed wombats, Brookfield Conservation Park is located within Australia’s only International Dark Sky Reserve making it one of the best places on earth to stargaze. Start the evening with a ranger guided walk as the hairy-nosed wombats emerge from burrows, and as the sky darkens, join astronomer Dean Davidson for a tour of the universe.

4.  Birds of the Byards Road Wetlands with our Bird Lover in Residence

Walk and watch the birds of Byards Road Wetland with Hugh Possingham, Nature Festival's Bird Lover in Residence. Suitable for beginners and bird enthusiasts alike. See the Nature Festival program for other walks conducted by our Bird Lover in Residence.

5.  South Australian Government House Open Day in conjunction with Nature Festival

  • Sunday, 8 October
  • 10:00am to 4.00pm
  • Government House, North Terrace, Adelaide City

Explore the residence of the Governor of South Australia and tour the magnificent gardens, see the glorious springtime blooms, and meet the Governor at this year’s Spring Open Day of Government House. This event is hosted in conjunction with Nature Festival.

6.  Joanna Poulson’s Artist Studio & Garden, Prospect

  • Sunday, 1 October and 15 October
  • 1:00pm to 4.00pm
  • 15 Charles Street, Prospect

Explore the studio and garden of local artist Joanna Poulson. Drawing inspiration from her home and garden, you will have the opportunity to discover the flowering plants from Joanna’s paintings, her works in progress, and learn about her photography and oil painting process.
