Julia Louis-Dreyfus, 63, most known for her role as Elaine Benes in 90’s sitcom ‘Seinfeld’, launched a podcast in 2023 as she was contemplating the third act of her life and craved the sort of wisdom that only comes from age.

Her podcast, “Wiser Than Me,” premiered last April and was named Apple Podcasts’ show of the year for 2023. The show is meant to amplify the voices of older, wiser women, and tell tales from the iconic actresses, musicians, and activists. On it, Louis-Dreyfus and iconic women discuss the joys and the sorrows of ageing. The 10-episode series sees Louis-Dreyfus interview guests who are, well, wiser than her. The first season featured luminaries such as Carol Burnett (91), Julie Andrews (88), and Patti Smith (77).

“All of these women have demonstrated how to live a life,” Louis-Dreyfus says of her guests. “That doesn’t mean they didn’t make mistakes, but there’s something about being older where perhaps you feel not as protective in terms of sharing. And so I’ve taken advantage of the intimacy that offers. That availability to be real and to be open is a great gift.”

You can listen to the Wiser Than Me podcast on Apple Music, Spotify, or any podcast platform.
