Town Square

Fun, free and perfect for families, this is the place to meet for a drink, stay for a meal and explore. It buzzes with all the energy of South Australia at its harvest peak, offering diverse bites from food vendors and beverages sure to impress. Sustainability remains a festival focus with reusable enamel bowls and plates available in Town Square, with proceeds to benefit our community partner Forage Built.

Feast on Yorkes

Date: Sunday 1 May
Time: 12pm – 5pm
Venue: Barley Stacks Wine

Head to the Yorke Peninsula for a family-friendly day of food, wine and music. Local producers will sell entrée-sized dishes from stalls, perfect for grazing, and you can pair your meal with a range of regional wines, beers and spirits while enjoying tunes from a line-up of district musicians. You’ll be able to speak with the people who grew, fished for and farmed the ingredients on your plate and discover their tips on more beautiful parts of the Yorke Peninsula to explore.

Organic Hill Wine Tasting

Date: Saturday 30 April
Time: 2pm – 5pm
Venue: Organic Hill Vineyard

Sample the organic, preservative-free, biodynamic, vegan-friendly wines produced by Organic Hill in renowned McLaren Vale. Vineyard owner Leon Hill will guide you through the processes involved to create wine that is both preserved naturally – with no additives – and organic, while you enjoy picturesque vineyard views, sip delicious wines and indulge your taste buds with a selection of local produce. More than 10 different varietals will be on tasting, where guests can also indulge in organic coffee, delicious Vietnamese food made with ingredients sourced from local farmers’ markets and organic, biodynamic cheeses from Paris Creek.

Urban Kitchen

Presented by Rundle Mall and Farquhar, expand your cooking skills with live demonstrations and tastings from Sprout Kitchen. Watch as talented chefs whip up mouth-watering recipes using their favourite local produce from South Australian regional producers. After the demonstration you’ll be invited to sample an amazing range of local products to stock up your own pantry, before setting out to find delicious eateries and homeware retailers throughout the precinct.

Taste Our Market

During this two-day Tasting Australia event the Adelaide Central Market will showcase the incredible produce South Australia has to offer with a free program of events and cooking demonstrations by some of its most iconic traders. Live music and kids’ activities are also set to feature.

The Noodle Cup

Celebrating a comfort food classic synonymous with student life, cup noodles are the ultimate hack for mealtimes. The Noodle Cup endeavours to highlight the versatility of this humble student specialty and offers a food experience that’s sure to be an instant classic, and at $5 per cup it’s a price point foodies and students alike will love. The event brings together top chefs in Morgan McGlone of Belles Hot Chicken fame and Victor Long from Melbourne favourite Lee Ho Fook; armed with quality local and seasonal South Australian produce to pimp up cup noodles.

Storytellers Series

Behind every special eating and drinking experience there’s a story. Be inspired by culinary stars as they share captivating tales from the kitchen and beyond. Our new Storytellers Series will unfold in Town Square – Victoria Square/Tarntanyangga – and invites guests to discover more about chefs, producers and hospitality heroes featured in the festival. First dishes, lessons learned the hard way, favourite childhood meals and career inspiration are all on the table. You’ll find the lineup below – choose from three ticketed food masterclasses and a range of free conversations open to everyone. Hosting the series will be South Australian food identity Mandy Hall, a MasterChef alumna who today combines presenting roles with recipe and product development. Join her in a warm, casual setting to learn more about familiar names. Mother’s Day on Sunday 8 May is set to be particularly special. Reigning Gourmet Traveller Restaurant Personality of the Year Sharon Romeo (FINO VINO and Fino Seppeltsfield) will be joined by her mum for a chat, while later in the day Tasting Australia co-festival directors Darren Robertson and Karena Armstrong – plus food curator Emma McCaskill – will each share the stage with their children. The unscripted fun that awaits is the perfect way to see Tasting Australia 2022 out in style. Tasting Australia’s debut Storytellers Series will feature the talented folk below, with more to be shared soon:
